Reds have a number of absentees ahead of big week involving Merseyside derby and Champions League action

Arne Slot has been handed a new injury worry ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Reds trail the French champions 2-0, but will not be at full strength as they look to orchestrate an impressive comeback after Curtis Jones suffered a new injury in Saturday’s defeat of Fulham.

It was not all bad news in that match, though. The wonderkid Rio Ngumoha produced another impressive performance, while both Joe Gomez and Jeremie Frimpong, who had previously been considered doubts, featured in the match. Alexander Isak also completed just over 20 minutes as he continues his recovery from a broken leg.

A big week looms for Liverpool, with the small matter of a Merseyside derby set to follow a huge Champions League affair on Tuesday night.

With that in mind, here is all the latest Liverpool injury news and potential return dates...

Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones was the only casualty of Liverpool’s win over Fulham. He went down off the ball late in the first-half and was seen nursing his groin before being replaced by Ryan Gravenberch.

Slot issued a grim prognosis as he offered an update on Jones’ condition at full-time, saying he did not expect the midfielder to be passed fit in time to face PSG on Tuesday.

He told Sky Sports: “He felt a little bit in his groin. It wasn’t a moment, he felt it already for a few minutes. Let’s hope for the best, but I would be surprised if he is available for Tuesday.”

The full extent of the injury is yet to be revealed, though Slot will offer a further update as he previews the PSG clash on Monday evening.

Potential return date: Unknown

Alisson Becker

Brazilian shot-stopper Alisson Becker is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his recovery from an injury.

He was ruled out of last month’s defeat by Galatasaray at the eleventh hour, but returned for the second leg before suffering a fresh injury ahead of the March international break.

Speaking last week, Slot revealed that he would not return to the fold until the latter stages of the campaign.

Slot said: "He will not be part of the PSG game either, (he is) out for a bit longer. Towards the end of the season, we expect him to be fit."

In a statement posted to his X account, though, Alisson contradicted Slot and promised to return before the end of the month.

He wrote: “I didn't suffer a new injury. I'm in the treatment phase, and the plan is to be in full playing condition by the end of April!”

Speaking after facing Fulham, Slot added the Brazilian was yet to return to training: “Tuesday [vs PSG] I don't expect him. He's not training with the team yet.

"But he's working very hard on his recovery, so we hope to have him back in the near future. But he doesn't train with the team yet, so he will not be performing [on] Tuesday."

Potential return date: May 3 vs Manchester United (A)

Wataru Endo

Wataru Endo’s campaign was cut short after he was stretchered off during Liverpool’s defeat of Sunderland in February.

He has sustained a serious foot injury and is not expected to play again this campaign, though his sights are set on captaining Japan at the World Cup.

“Wataru will be out for a long time. We don't know exactly how long, but long,” said Slot on February 19.

Japan manager Jahime Moriyasu later added that surgery on his ankle “went well, but I don’t know the details.”

He continued: “The plan is for [Endo] to be ready in time for the World Cup, so the rehabilitation process from surgery onwards is being considered.

“In order to play in the World Cup, he, the club, and we all share the same understanding.”

Potential return date: June 2026

Conor Bradley

An awkward tackle during a goalless draw with Arsenal left Conor Bradley with a severe knee injury, though he was fortunate to dodge an ACL rupture.

He was forced to undergo surgery in January and is expected to miss the remainder of the campaign.

Potential return date: Summer 2026

Giovanni Leoni

Giovanni Leoni’s season was ended just as it began, when he tore his ACL on debut.

The Italian had impressed in his first minutes for the club, against Southampton in the Carabao Cup, but saw his season cut short before full-time.

Leoni has since undergone surgery and remains in rehab. Thus, he is not expected to feature again this season.
