Liverpool interested in signing Castello Lukeba in the summer transfer window | OneFootball

According to Christian Falk, Liverpool retain a long-standing interest in Castello Lukeba (22) and are interested in a potential move for the RB Leipzig defender in the summer transfer window.

The former Lyon centre-back has attracted the interest of several clubs across the continent since he made the switch to East Germany in 2023. A release clause worth €90m that becomes active from the 1st of July 2025 was negotiated when he joined the Red Bull club from Les Gones.

Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk’s contract is set to expire at Anfield in June and with no sign of an extension close, Lukeba could be seen as a replacement for the Dutch international. The summer window is expected to be busy for the Reds regardless of three of their star players signing new deals to keep them on Merseyside.

Real Madrid also keen

Despite the Premier League outfit showing an interest in the 22-year-old, they are not the only club targeting a potential summer move. Real Madrid are also keen on signing Lukeba and could rival the Reds in the pursuit of the defender.
