Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur right-back Djed Spence this summer.

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola wants a new player in the position, and the Reds are looking to bring the Spurs star to the Anfield club.

Spence is said to be ‘extremely receptive’ to joining the Merseysiders, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club want at least £35 million for the England international.

The 25-year-old played 44 games for the Lilywhites last term, but it appears he is not in the plans of Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi.

He has been linked with an exit all summer and Liverpool could now come calling.

The Reds have Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez as right-back options, while Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones can also feature there.

However, Iraola wants an experienced and natural option who can defend well in the position, and the Spurs star fits the bill.

Spence is not the only name under consideration and more names are expected in the coming days.

He also offers much-needed versatility as he can play at left-back and on both wings in attack.

The Englishman was one of the best players for the Three Lions at the World Cup, featuring in eight games as Thomas Tuchel’s side finished third.

Liverpool could do with his quality and the chance to play in the Champions League next season and challenge for silverware under the new Reds boss would appeal to him.
