Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah is approaching the end of his contract, and he could leave the club at the end of the season.

The dazzling winger has already achieved legendary status at Liverpool, and it won’t be easy to replace him.

At 32, he is still going strong, and his numbers (ten goals and ten assists in all competitions) are simply amazing. Based on his numbers alone, he deserves a new contract, but no one knows what will happen in a few months’ time.

If Salah leaves, Liverpool will need another quality winger, and they have been linked with players like Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush.

It appears that West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus could be another serious option for the Reds.

Liverpool keep close eye on Mohammed Kudus

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool and Arsenal are keeping close tabs on the Ghana international.

The versatile attacker is going through a complex situation at West Ham. The Hammers are 14th in the Premier League, and he wants to leave the London outfit.

The 24-year-old winger does not think that he will reach the level he hopes for at the London club, and therefore, he is looking for an exit.

West Ham have already informed Kudus that he will only be allowed to leave if any potential suitor meets his release clause, which is around £85 million.

Liverpool are not ready to pay that amount for Kudus, who has managed only two goals this season for the Hammers.

Paying £85m for Kudus doesn’t make any sense

Ideally, Liverpool should look to tie Salah down on a two-year deal and keep looking for a quality replacement in between.

The Reds have Federico Chiesa, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliot as other options. Ben Doak has impressed heavily for Middlesbrough on loan, and he might be drafted into the Reds’ senior side next season.

Kudus is an exciting player to watch, but he has done nothing so far to command such a high transfer fee. If West Ham refuse to lower their asking price, the Reds should explore other options.
