Liverpool are already planning big things for the next transfer window.

Considering they spent £123m on one player, it is strange to say that the Reds kept their powder relatively dry over the course of the summer.

But that is largely the case. Apart from the big money arrival of Bradley Barcola, Liverpool only recruited Ronald Araujo on loan and brought in Victor Munoz.

With Andoni Iraola coming in, it made no sense to completely change the squad around. Considering managerial changes were already happening, Liverpool needed a bit more continuity on the pitch.

The Reds also need to give time for their big money signings from the summer of 2025 to settle and for them to flourish.

It's also important to note that this is a long-term project at Anfield. Liverpool have experienced a changing of the guard recently epitomised by the departure of Jurgen Klopp.

Now this season for the first time in close to a decade Liverpool are without Andy Robertson and Mo Salah.

They've already lost the likes of Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in recent years.

The core part of that Klopp side no longer exists. And there won't be many remnants of it left either.

Alisson Becker's contract expires in 2027, he is unlikely to extend his current deal. Virgil van Dijk's contract also expires at the end of the season. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Liverpool ramping up exciting move for Lamine Camara

There's are new faces at Anfield now, the likes of Barcola and Alexander Isak as well as Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai will herald a new era.

Liverpool have been gradually building this squad and adding the right pieces when the moment has presented itself.

Just like Klopp's squad took time to get going, Iraola's team won't be built in a few transfer windows either.

Liverpool are the type of team who will only make a move for a player when the time is right.

And that seems to be the case for Camara, for whom a move is expected to be ramping up.

According to Ben Jacobs writing for Givemesport Liverpool made contact with Camara during the summer window to inform him that he is held in high regard in their thinking for 2027.

Camara's move fell through to Chelsea and he's still dreaming of a transfer to the Premier League. Liverpool remain keen, so there's a good chance this one happens and another key pillar of this new team is added to the squad.
