Liverpool make contact with Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Liverpool FC are eyeing up a move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta (28). The Premier League champions reportedly met with the Frenchman and his entourage in Paris, as they plot out a swoop for a striker who is under contract until 2027.

The French outlet reports that a price of between €50-60m could be enough to secure the striker who made 46 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 17 and assisting four. However, Palace may still be hoping to rely upon his services when they take their maiden steps in Europe in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Liverpool are not the only team interested in the French Olympian, and according to Sacha Tavolieri, AC Milan have placed the striker on their shortlist as they look to improve on a disappointing season where they missed out on European football.
