Liverpool Man Offered To Club But Reds Would Have To Help On Wages | OneFootball

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa has been offered to Serie A side Roma, but the Reds would need to chip in to share his salary to facilitate a move.

The Italian forward was not part of Liverpool’s squad in their 2-2 draw against Newcastle United on Sunday as they kicked off their Premier League campaign.

It could mean the 28-year-old right winger is edging closer to his Anfield exit as the summer window will shut down in about ten days.

However, there has been little talk regarding any exit for Chiesa, who has been linked with a return to Italy constantly since his move to England two years ago.

The 28-year-old versatile wide attacker has played 32 Premier League games since his arrival, but only two of them have been starts.

New Reds boss Andoni Iraola does not appear to fancy Chiesa as an option for his project at Anfield, and to secure game time, an exit looks necessary.

According to Italian journalist Enrico Camelio, the Italian forward has been offered to Serie A side Roma.

Chiesa’s high salary, though, is a stumbling block, and the Reds must contribute to his wages to help any potential move go through.

The Giallorossi have been looking to sign at least one quality winger before the window shuts down and the Reds out-of-favour man is an option for them.

However, Roma have not made an approach for him yet, as Gian Piero Gasperini will make the decision whether he wants the ex-Juventus star.

Liverpool-linked Ibrahim Mbaye is also a winger who has been offered to the Serie A giants, who are determined to bring someone in.

Chiesa’s former side Juventus were keen on him in the January window, but the Reds did not provide them with any discounts.

Liverpool are staying in touch with Paris Saint-Germain to bring in Bradley Barcola, which would be more bad news to Chiesa’s game time hopes.

Whether Roma will make a move for the 28-year-old in the coming days remains to be seen, with a host of wingers on their radar.
