Liverpool move for Bradley Barcola ‘complicated’ as Reds open talks for PSG winger | OneFootball

Liverpool have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain for Bradley Barcola, but ‘the deal is complicated’, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Reds are looking to further strengthen their attacking options after signing Spanish winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target, and they are now working to secure the signing of the Frenchman.

Plettenberg added that the Merseyside giants have opened talks with the attacker’s representatives to reach agreement on personal terms.

PSG are holding out for a €170 million (£148m) fee for Barcola, using the transfers of Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers as benchmarks for their valuation.

Despite PSG’s stance, the 23-year-old is keen on leaving the club this summer after failing to receive assurances over a regular starting berth.

Barcola featured in 49 matches across all competitions last season but started only 25 games in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.

Arsenal have also been linked with Barcola but are reluctant to pay his asking price. The French attacker is understood to prefer a move to Liverpool instead.

The Reds will try to reach a compromise with PSG over Barcola’s valuation, but whether the Ligue 1 outfit will be prepared to reduce their demand remains to be seen.

Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, but the Blues are not looking to sell the Portuguese unless they receive a substantial offer.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, Lille’s Mathias Fernandez-Pardo and Koln’s Said El Mala remain on Liverpool’s radar.

Andoni Iraola’s side are unlikely to make a move for any of their alternative targets unless they fail to sign Barcola.
