Liverpool are ‘not prepared to invest’ €70m in signing Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain, with that sum the price tag the Parisians have slapped on the winger.
Mbaye wants to move on from the Parc des Princes this summer and has made his view clear to the club.
Liverpool are his preferred destination and the winger recently reached an agreement with the Merseyside giants on personal terms.
No deal between the clubs is in place though and there will need to be serious movement for one to occur given PSG’s asking price.

Liverpool see the teenager is being worth around €50m and are ‘not prepared to invest’ €70m to bring him to Anfield this summer.
It is suggested the Premier League club may even be unwilling to go as high as €60m for Mbaye and other options are being explored.
For Mbaye, the situation is a tricky one, with PSG having insisted they are prepared to sell him and the player wanting to go.
Internally at the Parc des Princes, it has been agreed that Mbaye will be sold.

While discussions are ongoing though, there is little sign of an agreement being close to being in place and that will raise question marks over whether he might eventually stay.
Liverpool’s stance has been that they want both Mbaye and his team-mate Bradley Barcola.
The signs appear to be pointing towards an eventual Anfield move for Barcola, but the situation around Mbaye is now much less clear.
Liverpool have been making bids for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, however as things stand, he will end up being more expensive than Mbaye if the Reds’ meet the Seagulls’ asking price.
