Liverpool re-enter transfer race for 33-goal sensation | OneFootball

Over the summer, Liverpool were linked with many different attackers.

In the end, Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola were the ones who were signed for the club with both players already making their debuts.

At the moment, Munoz has had a bigger impact on the team so far with the Spaniard's pace and endless pressing a sight to behold.

However, one thing that Andoni Iraola didn't manage to do in the summer was find a suitable right-winger to replace Mohamed Salah.

When the Egyptian King exited Anfield, most people expected that Liverpool finding his replacement would be their main priority.

And, while most of their wingers can play on either side, having a natural right-winger among their ranks would've been much better.

Unfortunately, that didn't end up happening with clubs such as Crystal Palace and Brighton demanding extortionate fees for their wingers.

However, that hasn't stopped Liverpool from eyeing new targets to plug that gap.

As mentioned, throughout most of the summer, many different right-wingers were linked with a Liverpool move.

In the end, a deal for Yankuba Minteh or Ismaila Sarr seemed to be the most likely outcome but, thanks to the high demands that their clubs made, no deal was agreed.

This left Liverpool an attacker down for at least the first half of the 2026-27 season.

However, since they clearly still have plenty of money to spend, Iraola forcing a move for a new right-winger in January is certainly not out of the question.

So, that's why this latest update from Calciomercato should certainly pique the interest of Liverpool's fanbase.

"Francisco Conceicao is no longer untouchable at Juventus . Or at least, he's no longer as indispensable as he was in 2025-26," they wrote.

"The transfer market is also a spectator to Conceicao's current situation, and there's no shortage of teams potentially interested in purchasing him in the Premier League, from Liverpool to Manchester United.

"Conceicao, whose contract with Juventus expires in 2030 , with a net salary of €3.8 million per season, was acquired outright by the Old Lady in 2025 (after a loan deal in the first season), for an investment of €30.4 million.

"After a year, €6.8 million has been written off, and another €6.8 will be written off this season: to make a capital gain, if Juventus wanted to sell Conceicao in 2027, they would have to ask for at least €16.8 million.

"This figure is obviously much lower than the player's value, which according to the Bianconeri stands at around €40 million."

Looking at Conceicao, he's probably the exact sort of profile that Liverpool want.

The Portugal international is only 23 years old and is a natural right-winger who can also play anywhere across the front three if needed.

He's already played for three different clubs throughout his career which proves that he has plenty of experience under his belt and, while the Eredivisie and the Liga Portugal aren't really the best level of competition, the fact that he's already played over 12,000 minutes of football across all competitions is impressive.

However, one thing that he doesn't have going for him are his goal contributions.

Since the 2019/20 season, the attacker has scored 33 goals across all competitions with only four of them coming last season.

Indeed, for €40 million (£34.3 million), he could be worth a punt but, for anything more than that, signing Conceicao would be a huge risk.

Salah was one of Liverpool's best-ever attackers and, trying to replace him with someone who's only scored one goal this season, feels like a massive risk.

Here's hoping that the Reds find a different player to pursue by the time January comes around, as, when they were first linked in the summer, fans weren't really all that excited about him then and, they certainly won't be now.
