According to a report from The Sunderland Echo, Liverpool are showing an interest in signing teenage sensation Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi.
Ogunsuyi, who will turn 18 in December, has been in great form for Sunderland’s youth sides, scoring 12 times and getting 2 assists in 7 games for the club’s U18 and U21 teams. He’s also netted in both of his games against Liverpool’s youth sides this season.
The Belgian youth international is a tall centre forward who can play on either wing and has been described as one of Sunderland’s “brightest young players” - no mean feat in a side that features Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg.
Ogunsuyi was rewarded for his performances this season with a spot on the bench during Sunderland’s recent Championship match against Millwall. If he continues to turn heads it won’t be long before he’s on the pitch for the senior side.
Liverpool missed out on signing Ogunsuyi before he signed his first professional deal in the summer, one which will keep him at Sunderland until 2026. However, The Sunderland Echo report that Liverpool remain interested in signing him in the future.
A future front-three of Ngumoha, Ogunsuyi, Doak, anyone?
