Liverpool haven’t given up their pursuit of Bradley Barcola despite Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer stance.
According to The Athletic, the Reds still hope to agree a deal with PSG for Barcola.
The 23-year-old is willing to join Liverpool after growing frustrated at the Ligue 1 club over his limited playing time in major fixtures.
Barcola made 49 appearances across all competitions last season, bagging13 goals and seven assists.
However, manager Luis Enrique dropped him from the starting line-up for the club’s biggest games, including the Champions League final.
Mohamed Salah’s departure has left a significant void in Liverpool’s attack. Finding a like-for-like replacement for the Egypt international may not be possible.
The Merseyside club are looking to bring in someone who can add pace, creativity and goals.
Barcola is young and has proven himself at the top level. He offers goal threat and is renowned for his explosive pace and dribbling skills.
Liverpool are unlikely to meet PSG’s asking price for the Frenchman.
The Premier League club have been cautious in the market after splashing a record £446m for seven new signings last summer.
PSG could lower their asking price before the transfer deadline. Barcola has two years left on his contract, and it is clear he wants to leave.
