Following his big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen, Florian Wirtz has been handed a legendary shirt number at Liverpool.
The English champions confirmed on Friday that Wirtz will wear the No. 7 jersey for the 2025/26 season.

Wirtz, who has been sporting the number 58 during pre-season, takes over the iconic shirt from Luis Diaz, who recently joined Bayern Munich.
The No. 7 shirt has previously been worn by Liverpool legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Ian Callaghan, Kevin Keegan and Luis Suarez.
Liverpool also announced the squad numbers for new signings Jeremie Frimpong (30) and Hugo Ekitike (22), both of whom have joined the club from Germany.
