According to the Telegraph, Lijnders is set to interview for the vacant managerial position at Championship side Norwich City.
The Canaries endured a disappointing 2024/25 season finishing 13th, 11 points outside of the play-off spots.
This led to Johannes Thorup being relieved of his duties at the end of April, with Jack Wilshere taking temporary charge of the club.
Lijnders could take the reigns at the former Premier League side next season, and that could come as a boost to Liverpool.
The loan of Bajcetic and the sale of Bobby Clark to Lijnders’ Salzburg were a show of faith in the Dutch manager from his former employers.
Bajcetic was recalled shortly after Lijnders’ dismissal and has since been loaned to Las Palmas where he has impressed.
If Klopp’s former assistant was appointed at Norwich the Reds could take advantage, much like they did after he took charge at Salzburg, and use the East Anglian club as a testing ground for some promising academy talents.
Kaide Gordon spent the season on loan at Norwich this season, so there is already an established relationship between the two clubs, and loans have been a key part of Liverpool’s youth development in recent years.
