Liverpool have reportedly shown 'great interest' in one of Europe's most electric wingers. A deal could be on the horizon here.
Liverpool will enter the transfer market again in 2026, despite their enormous outlay this year. There's really no way around that.
For one, the Reds didn't land the new centre-back they wanted. Marc Guehi should have joined right at the end of the window but Crystal Palace eventually collapsed the deal.
Liverpool also didn't touch the centre of midfield and it's an area they'll absolutely look into once the transfer window reopens. And then there's the situation on the wing.
The squad has two wingers that Arne Slot actually trusts to start games: Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo. Neither are the quickest on the flank, though, and it's a bit of a problem.

Beyond the pair are Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha. Slot doesn't appear to want to start either of them outside of Carabao Cup games, however.
And so Liverpool absolutely need someone to join the squad who can offer something different. Even if that's just a burst of pace down the flank.
They may have found their man.
Sport claims that the race to sign Malick Fofana is essentially down to three clubs. Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool have all shown ‘great interest’ in the Lyon star.
The report suggests that Lyon will be pressured into selling Fofana in 2026 because of their current financial situation. It’s led Barcelona to contact them in order to ask about potential costs - something we imagine Arsenal and Liverpool have also done here.
Fofana is viewed as one of the most interesting young talents in Europe. He’s quick, clearly has bags of potential and importantly, he’s adept on both flanks.
