Liverpool sign Jérémy Jacquet for €70m, to join at end of season

Liverpool have paid €70m to sign Rennes centre-back Jérémy Jacquet, who will join the Reds at the end of the season.

The player said in a post that he was honoured to sign for Liverpool and that finishing well with Rennes, the club where he came through, mattered to him. He added that he approaches the second half of the season aiming to share special moments with his team-mates and supporters.

A little over a year ago, he was on loan at Clermont in Ligue 2.

Recalled by Rennes, Jacquet established himself at his academy club, and the deal was finalised on Monday. The structure of the fee has not yet been disclosed.

At 20, he becomes one of the biggest sales in Rennes’ history.
