Liverpool 1 – 1 Crystal Palace – Premier League Player Ratings

Following last week’s loss at Brighton, the want to win at home was clear, however, the Reds entered holiday mode long ago and this day was all about the trophy lift.

The lineup and subsequent ratings are listed below.

OneFootball Videos

Alisson Becker – 7.0

The giant Brazilian stopper was confident and assured after his team failed to protect his own goal. He is a spectacular keeper who so often keeps his team in the most precarious of games.

Man of the Match

Conor Bradley – 5.0

The Ireland international was lively and willing to provide width for his attacking allies as he strived to make an impression. However, poor positional work for the goal conceded cemented the need for Jeremie Frimpong to make the team next season.

Subbed – 45 mins

Andy Robertson – 6.0

The Scotland international was resolute in his work and tried to show his experience as his team looked to fight back. Solid if unspectacular.

Subbed – 85 mins

Ibrahima Konaté  – 6.0

The France international defender was not at his best and should have used his superior athleticism to control his defensive zone.

Subbed – 62 mins

Virgil van Dijk – 7.0

The captain and leader of this team were needed due to his command and control of a backline which was at times disjointed. With superior defensive skills, he was able to marshal much of this game with ease.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 6.0

The Hungarian captain was limited in his work as the power and running were lacking for much of the game. A steady and efficient game where the drop away from form has shown since the club confined the title win.

Subbed – 62 mins

Ryan Gravenberch – 6.0

The versatile midfielder was lively and aware of his surroundings, as he looked to impose his game on those around him. Sadly had his day spoilt when receiving a red card.

Red Card – 68 mins

Curtis Jones – 7.0

The England international was the controller who at times took many touches and struggled to set the required tempo. His role as the squad fourth choice central midfielder could be extended to number five this summer.

Cody Gakpo – 6.0

The Dutch attacker was productive and inventive with his play as he looked to make things happen from wide. His performances will need to liven up if Florian Wirtz is to arrive this summer. A handy assist for the equaliser.

Subbed – 63 mins

Luis Diaz – 6.0

The Columbian attacker may well have played his last game for Liverpool and again showed the endeavour that is needed to succeed. Versatile and reliable, however, just not the answer.

Subbed – 69 mins

Mohamed Salah – 7.0

The Egyptian King was able to score the goal which made the stadium erupt. A fabulous player and though this was vintage, the legend still came up with the goods.

Substitutions;

Trent Alexander Arnold – 7.0 (on 45)

Came on to add another dimension.

Darwin Núñez – 6.0 (on 62)

Came on to add power.

Diogo Jota – 6.0 (on 62)

Came on to more venom.

Wataru Endo – 6.0 (on 69)

Came on to add tenacity.

Harvey Elliott – 5.0 (on 85)

Came on.

The Manager;

Arne Slot – 10.0

The Dutch just won the Premier League.

Steven Smith’s Pre-match Prediction;

Liverpool 3 – 1 Crystal Palace
