Liverpool star 'certainly' LEAVING club permanently

One Liverpool star is 'certainly' leaving the club, according to reports. It'll be permanent.

2025 was a massive year for Liverpool as they overhauled their squad. And that's despite winning the Premier League title with relative ease.

It wasn't just the £400m spend that caught the eye but also the mass exodus of players. Liverpool moved on from Jurgen Klopp's group, essentially, as they rebuilt under Arne Slot.

That's something that didn't happen in the Dutchman's debut summer. The club kept the playing staff as close to the same as they could manage - and that paid dividends.

Notably, switching things up has brought about much worse performances and Liverpool have no real hope of retaining their Premier League crown this season. The solution? Probably a lot more changes.

Contracts will expire this summer that see long-time servants depart. Not just with the first-team squad, either, but those sitting on the fringes of the Klopp era.

Rhys Williams will leave

Rhys Williams will always have a place in the folklore at Anfield after his heroics helped save the disastrous, injury-hit 2020/21 campaign. The academy graduate forced his way into the starting XI by the season's end as Liverpool rescued a dramatic top-four finish.

But Williams has never been able to otherwise get games. He's struggled for minutes at the top level ever since and dropped all the way to League Two last season for 33 games.
