Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is set to be named on the bench today when the Anfield club visit Elland Road to take on Leeds United, according to journalist and insider Sully.

The Liverpool hero was not named in the starting XI against Sunderland and West Ham United, and Reds manager Arne Slot has decided to drop him again against the Whites.

Salah is said to be unhappy with the decision as it appears he is slowly losing his place in the starting XI after a recent dip in form.

Liverpool were able to arrest their woeful run of form in the absence of Salah, winning against West Ham and leaving it late to pick up a point against Sunderland.

Slot has seen some improvement in his attack with the Egypt international on the bench and it makes sense for him to stick with the decision going forward.

Salah has been a shadow of himself in recent games, and removing him from the firing line could be in the best interest of both club and player.

There have been several calls for the 33-year-old to be dropped since the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City last month, and subsequent defeats to Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven left Slot with no choice.

Liverpool are looking to make it three Premier League games without defeat, and Slot will be eager to do everything to leave West Yorkshire with all three points.

Salah will likely get a chance to make an impact off the bench depending on how the game goes later today, and he will be desperate to influence the proceedings.

The Liverpool star has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia ahead of the next summer transfer window after a deal to move to the Middle East fell through last summer.

He opted against leaving the Merseyside club as a free agent, signing a new deal instead, and the fans are hoping he will bounce back after his recent struggles in front of goal.
