In an interview with the club, the Dutchman was full of admiration for his teammate Curtis Jones.
He said: "I know Curtis. He loves to take the ball and dribble from the back. He's really comfortable and he almost never loses the ball. It's really nice to play with him and it gives you more confidence to bring the ball forward."
We can presume that his words come from a place of enjoying having the Englishman as his partner in Arne Slot's midfield double-pivot, and the relationship between the pair is the best it's ever been.
On occasion, we've seen Jones drift forwards and Gravenberch stay back, while on others, it's been the other way around. Neither can be really defined as the defensive midfielder or the central midfielder, it's a mixture of both roles within each of their personal responsibilities for the team.
