One Liverpool starter is believed to want a move away from Anfield. And it could happen very soon.

Liverpool won the Premier League title last season - and then immediately went about reshaping the squad. It's something you essentially never see but the Reds weren't shy about what they believed.

We'll be honest, winning the title almost certainly came as a shock to the club. They went into last season with a new head coach and no major signings. Somehow, that led to becoming champions - but it didn't entirely change the fact that Liverpool felt the squad could use upgrading.

We've got new full-backs, new goalkeeping options, new strikers...

An incredible amount has been spent to reshape things and the Reds aren't done. We know that because they tried to sign Marc Guehi at the deadline, only for a deal with Crystal Palace to collapse at end.

There was an eagerness there that came as a bit of a surprise, though. Liverpool do have four centre-back options as things stand, including a solid title-winning partnership.

But there's one very good reason why signing Guehi felt like a priority.

Ibrahima Konate believed to want Real Madrid move

The Athletic reports that Real Madrid fully believe that Ibrahima Konate wants to join them. The Frenchman is coming to the end of his contract and will be free to move next summer.

This is, of course, exactly the same situation Liverpool faced with Trent Alexander-Arnold last season. The Reds tried to renew his contract but Madrid were in his ear, convincing him to head out there.

It's their gameplan for transfers these days - they've convinced the world that they're the ultimate place to play. Los Blancos now feel they've achieved that with Konate and that he's theirs to sign next year.
