Liverpool have confirmed that Ibrahima Konate has withdrawn from international duty, citing a statement by the French national team:
“Injured in the right quadriceps during his last match with Liverpool, Ibrahima Konate has followed a treatment and protocol since his arrival this Monday but will not be able to take his place against Iceland.”

As mentioned, Konate had limped off against Chelsea in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat last weekend, but the fact he still joined up with the French national team suggests the problem wasn’t anything too bad.
The injury was evidently enough to stop the centre-back playing for France this week, but you’d imagine Liverpool will be fairly confident of a comeback before long. If Konate was seriously injured, he surely would have pulled out of the break days earlier, or not travelled at all.
Arne Slot’s side face Manchester United on Sunday, October 19th, and they won’t want to be without one of their starting centre-backs for the game. The team are already missing Alisson in goal through injury.

Liverpool have a tricky period of fixtures coming up, including games against Real Madrid and Manchester City before the November internationals. Alisson is set to miss those games, but the rest of their first-choice side are expected to be available to play.
