Liverpool released images on Monday of a permanent memorial, "Forever 20", paying tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva.

The club said in a statement that it will erect a memorial at Anfield honouring its former striker and his brother, who died in a car accident in north-west Spain last July.

The stone sculpture is heart-shaped. Its title references Jota’s shirt number 20, interwoven with Silva’s 30 from his time at Penafiel in Portugal’s second tier.

It will stand on 97 Avenue at the foot of Anfield, a place where thousands of tributes, including flowers, scarves and artworks, have been left. The memorial will include personal touches beyond football, such as a game controller on the plinth. A date for the unveiling has not yet been announced.

Before the 2026 Premier League season began, Liverpool observed a minute’s silence for the Portuguese forward ahead of the match against Bournemouth.
