Liverpool’s season hasn’t gone to plan, but the January transfer window represents a chance for Arne Slot to right the ship.
Despite spending over £400 million in the summer, The Reds have left a lot to be desired this season and cracks are now starting to appear off the pitch as well as on it.
After being left on the bench for the third game in a row, Mohamed Salah spoke out against the club and the manager following a 3-3 draw with Leeds, resulting in him being dropped from the squad entirely for Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Inter Milan.
The relationship between the English champions and the Egyptian King isn’t thought to be irreparable, but Salah’s Anfield exit is looking more likely than ever.
Salah’s sale isn’t guaranteed, but the club will no doubt be eyeing up potential replacements for either the January or summer transfer window.

Antoine Semenyo and Yan Diomande have been repeatedly linked with Merseyside moves, but they are not Richard Hughes’ only options.
After a recent update, Liverpool have learned how much it would take to acquire long-standing target Michael Olise from Bayern Munich.
According to Fichajes, it would take a fee of around €150 million (~£131m) for the Frenchman to swap Munich for Merseyside.
The report confirms that Bayern are not looking to sell Olise and, as his contract runs until 2029, the club are in a strong position to refuse any advances.
Although the Reds have not always been a club associated with big spending, last summer proved that the most successful club in England are capable of splashing the cash.
The Reds broke their club record transfer fee twice in one summer, bringing in Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz to a side that had just won the Premier League.
It doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility that the club could go and break that record once again to bring in Olise, especially if it was to replace an all-time great like Salah, but it is hard to see such a massive spend being authorised mid-season.
With uncertainty around the future of head coach Slot, it seems more likely that Liverpool would wait until the summer to bring in Olise in such a blockbuster deal.
Mo Salah’s future at Liverpool is not certain and Olise’s arrival might not be necessary, but the Reds know what it would take if they did want to bring the Frenchman to Anfield.
