Liverpool transfer bombshell: Alexis Mac Allister requests Real Madrid move

The 27-year-old joined the Reds back in 2023 on a £35m deal from Brighton - inking a deal until 2028. Right now there is no news on a potential renewal - and Richard Hughes may well have a sticky situation on his hands.

Without a new deal there is a possibility of an outbound transfer being discussed for the Argentina World Cup winning-midfielder.

That would be preferable to losing the No10 on a free transfer when his contract expires in two years. And now it’s been claimed in the Spanish media that Mac Allister is holding out for a “dream” move to Real Madrid.

Mac Allister is on Real Madrid's radar

AS names Macca as one of SEVEN Real Madrid midfield targets for this summer as the 15-time European champions plot a rebuild.

“Mac Allister has long dreamed of playing at the Bernabéu,” the report reads. “He is under contract with Liverpool through 2028, and there have been no concrete talks over an extension yet.

“A move appears unlikely in the short term. However, if he delays renewing his deal, his price could drop into a range that fits Madrid’s spending limits.”

It's claimed that Mac Allister has requested Madrid move

And that report is backed up by claims in Fichajes - which goes one step further in stating that Macca has requested the move.

“He has already asked his agent to explore all possible avenues to facilitate this strategic move,” the report reads.

Alexis Mac Allister believes that, at 27, he's at the perfect stage of development to take on the challenge of leading Real Madrid's midfield.

“Those close to him know his asking price will be high, but they're confident that the player's own pressure will soon tip the scales.”

Right now it’s unknown what kind of money Liverpool would ask for in the event of Mac Allister’s exit. Luis Diaz was in a similar boat last summer when his contract had two years left to run.

Hughes achieved a deal worth €75m or thereabouts for the Colombian - who admittedly was in a lot better form than Mac Allister is this term.
