Liverpool can take advantage as one top prospect readies a move to England. This could be a massive one.
Liverpool want Bazoumana Toure, at least that's according to SportBild. They claim that the Reds have scouted the Ivorian several times this season, viewing him as a replacement for Mo Salah.
Or at least, a potential one. Toure is one of the top talents in the Bundesliga, even if compatriot Yan Diomande has outshone him as the must-buy winger in Germany.
But Liverpool like what they see in the Hoffenheim star and may make a move this summer. Importantly, it's expected that Toure will depart Germany for England, suggesting he's ready to agree a big-money move.
That move will 'probably' cost around €40m - a hefty sum for a player who only left Swedish football a little over a year ago. That's the cost of signing a player who looks like they could develop into a world-beater, though.
You pay the extra money for the potential, even if Toure has an awful long way to go before hitting anything like Salah's level. Still, he could well be the one Liverpool bank on going forward.
If not, it'll likely be another team from England taking that chance.
Breakout Season and Performance
Bazoumana Touré has emerged as one of the Bundesliga's most exciting young prospects during the 2025–2026 campaign with TSG Hoffenheim. As of April 8, 2026, the 20-year-old Ivorian winger has registered an impressive 11 assists and two goals in 24 league appearances, becoming the creative engine for Christian Ilzer's side. His technical flair and vision were further highlighted during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored two goals in just three appearances for Ivory Coast. Following a standout performance in a recent 1–0 international friendly win over Scotland, Touré has cemented his place as a likely inclusion in the Elephants' squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Transfer Speculation and Liverpool Interest
Touré’s rapid rise has made him a top summer target for several European giants, with Liverpool reportedly leading the race to secure his signature. According to reports from Sport Bild on April 8, Arne Slot’s side views the winger as a primary candidate to succeed Mohamed Salah, who is set to depart Anfield this summer. While Touré is under contract until 2029 with no release clause, Hoffenheim is reportedly prepared to consider offers in the region of €40 million. Although Arsenal, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are also monitoring his situation, Liverpool scouts have been particularly active, recently attending his international fixtures to finalise their evaluation before a potential summer bid.
