Questions keep flowing and comments keep coming regarding the right-back’s future at Liverpool, with his contract up at the end of the season and Real Madrid seemingly assembling the Nuevos Galacticos.

Discussing the situation on talkSPORT yesterday, former Liverpool star Danny Murphy praised Alexander-Arnold’s current level, saying: “Trent looks as good as I’ve seen him in years physically, which is now helping his 1-on-1 defending.

However, following Trent's most recent interview, Murphy was left concerned: "His wording in that interview to me suggests he’s open to the idea of going somewhere else and that’s concerning."

Exequiel Palacios as Slot's ideal No.6

Say it quietly, but Liverpool might be in a major transition period.

Not only do they have a new manager, but their three biggest stars may all leave the club in the summer and they’re unsure of the depth pieces they have at centre-back, full-back and all over midfield.

A report by CaughtOffside that Liverpool are eyeing up a raid for a trio of stars from former Red Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side might not be as surprising as it first appears.

In addition to the prospect of bringing in Florian Wirtz, the club are seemingly looking at his fellow club man Exequiel Palacios.

When compared to both Gravenberch and Mac Allister, he seems to sit somewhere in the middle of the two making him an ideal addition.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper situation has been a hot topic so far in this early season.

The signing of Georgia’s Euro 2024 hero Giorgi Mamardashvili - delayed until the start of next season - has raised questions about both the long term futures of no.1 Alisson Becker and backup Caoimhin Kelleher.

Only recently was Kelleher complaining to the Irish press around his circumstances, with Liverpool rejecting an offer from Nottingham Forest in the recent transfer window to retain the Irish shot-stopper’s services.

And now Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is eyeing Alisson as a long-term replacement for the recently-injured Marc-Andre ter Stergen.

Liverpool’s ‘wonderkid’ transfer target couldn’t have looked cooler with his backheel goal this weekend

Sunderland's Chris Rigg made some headlines this weekend as he produced a wonderful backheel to score the winner for his side against Middlesbrough.

It was the 17-year-old's first goal of the season and one that will be remembered for some time.

Liverpool are reportedly one of several clubs looking at Rigg right now. In truth, they'd be foolish not to - he's one of the brightest prospects in English football.
