Last Saturday, Mohamed Salah was brought back into the squad for the Premier League clash against Brighton (2-0). However, the Egyptian is far from certain to stay at Liverpool this winter. Reds captain Virgil van Dijk hasn't hidden his concerns after speaking with his teammate.

"I talk to him about everything. I told him I want him to stay. I’d really like him to stay because he’s one of our leaders, but he’s heading off to AFCON. We’ll keep in touch over the coming days and weeks, as we always do, and we’ll see what happens. I wish him all the best and hope he comes back. I hope so. I have no influence over it. We hope he’ll win there, return, and play a key role for the rest of the season. But on the other hand, we all know how football works, and we have no idea what will happen.
