Liverpool host Brighton and Hove Albion this evening with a place in the FA Cup fifth round at stake. The Reds come into this game off the back of a 1-0 win at Sunderland in midweek. However, they were dealt a major injury blow at the Stadium of Light as Wataru Endo was stretchered off. The Japan international was playing at right-back amid the champions’ injury crisis in that position.

Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley, the two natural options at right full-back, are both sidelined themselves, while Dominik Szoboszlai, who has deputised in that position regularly this term, was suspended after his controversial red card against Manchester City. Joe Gomez was also returning from his own injury problem, although he is fit to play tonight after making appearance off the bench on Wearside.

As for Brighton, they were booed off after their 1-0 defeat by rivals Crystal Palace last weekend, and they were beaten again in midweek by Aston Villa. The Seagulls have not won since their 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford to secure their place in the fourth round this evening, going five Premier League games without a maximum return.
