Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend when Fulham visit Anfield.
The postponement of last weekend’s Merseyside Derby saw Arne Slot’s side handed a rest amid the congested nature of the festive schedule. Liverpool won 1-0 at Girona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, extending their perfect record in Europe this season.
The Reds also lead the Premier League title race heading into the weekend. Liverpool are four points clear of nearest challengers Chelsea, with a game in hand.
Fulham held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw last weekend and are enjoying a strong season under Marco Silva. The Cottagers are 10th in the table, though just four points separate them from the Champions League places.
Liverpool will be without Alexis Mac Allister through suspension. The Argentina international will serve a one-game ban for five bookings this season, having also sat out the win at Girona due to a separate European ban.
There’s positive news, however, with Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa in contention to make the squad after returning from injury lay-offs. Alisson Becker should start in goal after an excellent performance on his return from injury in midweek.
Ibrahima Konate remains out with a knee injury for the Reds.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones, Szoboszlai; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.
Liverpool host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday 14th December 2024. Kick-off at Anfield is 15:00 GMT.
Liverpool vs Fulham will not be televised live to a UK audience.
