Arne Slot’s side find themselves in eigth after a spate of poor form that has seen the Reds win just once in their last five Prmeier League games.

The Merseysiders thought they had arrested their slide with victory over Aston Villa, followed by a morale-bolstering 1-0 win against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

However, they were brought back down to Earth with a bump as they were humbled 3-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

A win against struggling Forest would go a long way for the champions, who are eight points adrift of league leaders Arsenal.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest is scheduled for a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

The match will take place at Anfield.

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest team news

The big news coming out of Liverpool is that first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker is back in training after a seven-week lay-off.

The Brazilian limped off in the Champions League defeat by Galatasaray back in September, with Giorgi Mamardashvili deputising in his place.

Now, he could be in the frame to start this game, with Slot saying that he “expects” Alisson to be fit for the Forest encounter.

The same cannot be said of Jeremie Frimpong, who is also sidelined after he was injured in the Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Dutch right-back has suffered an injury-ridden start to his Liverpool career, and is unlikely to feature here, although Slot predicted that he was nearing a return.

Young defender Giovanni Leoni is out for the season with an ACL injury.

For Forest, Sean Dyche has had to contend with absentees aplenty since his arrival in the dugout at the City Ground.

First-choice full-back Ola Aina is out until the new year with a thigh problem, while Douglas Luiz is also a miss in midfield.

They could, however, welcome four players back at Anfield.

One could be striker Chris Wood, who has been a sore miss up top, while forward Dilane Bakwa could also make a return.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Callum-Hudson Odoi could also be brought back into the fray.

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest prediction

Dyche has instantly made Forest harder to play against, but a trip to Anfield is always a tough test.

Liverpool need to get their summer signings firing, with Alexander Isak having hit just one goal since his record move from Newcastle.

You would imagine that the Reds will have enough star quality to see this one through.

Liverpool to win, 3-1.
