In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Liverpool were among the clubs eager to land AC Milan forward Francesco Camarda. It is understood that the Reds could face competition from Chelsea, Manchester City, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Italian youngster.

Camarda’s Impressive Rise In Italian Football

Camarda has come through the youth ranks of AC Milan and has done well to establish himself as an important member of their senior team. The 18-year-old has already made 18 senior appearances for the Milan club so far, but is still waiting to score his first goal for them.

The Italian talent is currently among the most gifted young strikers in Serie A. Hence, Liverpool would do well to get a deal over the line for him next year.

His current contract at San Siro will run out in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for the Reds to sign him on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign.

Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Go Back For Camarda?

Camarda can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

Standing at 1.89m, the Italian forward can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition defenders in the air. However, the Italian whizkid is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the senior level. Plus, there are some question marks on whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to win the race for his services.

We can expect Camarda to bring more quality and depth to Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola’s frontline in the long run. He is good enough to serve as an ideal understudy to Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike at the Merseyside club.

At 18, the future looks quite bright for Camarda as long as he continues to improve with each year. Therefore, Iraola would be wise to go back for him next year.
