Liverpool wonderkid at risk of being AXED by Richard Hughes

Liverpool have a lot of squad dynamics to keep in check and it's important that no one feels as though Arne Slot has isolated them in some way, giving off the impression they're not wanted.

Of course, if a certain player isn't in the club's plans, then the Dutchman should feel empowered to make the decisions he thinks are best for the team, but as we saw with Mohamed Salah earlier in the month, if it comes across as though they're being unfairly punished, then players might speak out.

For the most part, it's understood that everyone has a role to play in the team's hunt for success.

But it's not uncommon for Liverpool to misjudge a player and for them to leave and perform to a level unseen during their time on Merseyside, primarily because they weren't given chances often enough.

Richard Hughes made two such errors in the summer - it's imperative that he's learnt his lesson.

Nyoni could be next to depart

If the transfers of Tyler Morton and Jarrel Quansah are anything to go by, Trey Nyoni might not have very long left at Liverpool, since he's being regularly ignored by Slot when it comes to selection.

At the start of the campaign, it was emphasised that Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha would be joining the first-team on a regular basis, backing up the more senior players in the different competition squads.

However, he's not exactly been given the opportunities that he might have envisioned he'd get, playing just 362 minutes in six appearances - two of which came for the under-18 youth team.

Of course, Nyoni is still just 18 years old, so there will be more than enough time for him to properly breakthrough, if Liverpool decide to stick with him, but the current situation is quite polarising.

Japanese veteran Wataru Endo has received similar treatment, while Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Florian Wirtz have all featured in some capacity in pretty much every game. It seems like Slot's commitment to rotating more is a work in progress.

There's little immediate danger for Nyoni and if he's able to compose himself when he gets the chance to play, then you'd expect an upturn in his fortunes will follow suit. That's all he can do.

Given how highly rated the young wonderkid is, it would certainly be surprising if Richard Hughes was given the green light to sell him in January or at the end of the season. After all, Liverpool don't have very much squad depth to begin with, although stranger things have happened in the past.
