Liverpool star limped off during Champions League win in midweek
Liverpool are assessing Mohamed Salah’s fitness ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash against Brighton.
Salah was restored to the Liverpool XI against Galatasaray on Wednesday and made amends for missing a first half penalty by completing the scoring in a 4-0 win at Anfield.
However, the one negative from an otherwise perfect night for the Reds, who will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals, was Salah requesting to be substituted late in the second half after picking up a knock.
“He was asking for a substitution, not because he felt he'd scored enough, but he felt something,” Arne Slot told reporters when asked about Salah’s injury.
“So let's see where he is for the weekend and afterwards.”
If Salah is not passed fit, Jeremie Frimpong is an option to play further forward on the right-wing, thus reprising his role from the 1-1 draw against Tottenham last weekend.
Though this could mean Dominik Szoboszlai is asked to fill in at right-back once again despite impressing in his more natural No10 role in the win over Galatasaray.

Alternatively, Joe Gomez could be restored in defence after shaking off a fitness concern to be named on the bench in the Champions League clash.
A third game in the space of six days, not to mention the quick turnaround after Galatasaray, could result in Slot freshening up his team where necessary.
Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo are all options to come into the side, while Rio Ngumoha may have to settle for a place on the bench despite being Liverpool’s best attacker against Spurs.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Frimpong, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Ekitike
Injured: Isak, Leoni, Bradley, Endo
Doubts: Salah
