Liverpool travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
Arne Slot’s side have steadied the ship after a difficult period. Crucially, they secured a 2-0 win over Brighton last weekend to boost confidence. However, the Reds must navigate this fixture without talisman Mohamed Salah, who has departed for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite this loss, their recent record against Spurs is formidable. They have scored in 25 of their last 26 league meetings with the North London club. Slot will be confident that his side has enough firepower to secure another vital three points.
Arne Slot has a decision to make at right-back. Joe Gomez is ruled out with a muscle injury, but Conor Bradley returns from suspension, and Jeremie Frimpong is fit again. Bradley is the likely favourite to start. In midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai faces a late fitness test on an ankle issue. He trained on Thursday, and Slot said he will start if he feels comfortable.
If Szoboszlai is fit, he will likely join Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch in the middle. In attack, the absence of Salah and Cody Gakpo means Hugo Ekitiké will lead the line again. The forward is in red-hot form, having scored braces in his last two games. He will be supported by Florian Wirtz and Curtis Jones, with Federico Chiesa also an option from the bench.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Bradley, Konaté, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Szoboszlai, Jones, Wirtz; Ekitiké
