Dominik Szoboszlai is closing in on a Premier League record after scoring his fourth free-kick of the Premier League campaign.
TheLiverpool midfielder stepped up to score the opener in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, bending an effort beyond Guglielmo Vicario.
Szoboszlai's strike was his fourth free-kick scored in the Premier League this season, and fifth of the 2025-26 campaign in all competitions. There have been 16 free-kick goals scored in the Premier League so far this season, with Szoboszlai responsible for 25% of them.
He's also now just one set-piece special from equalling the record for free-kicks scored in a singlePremier League campaign.
The current record is held jointly by ex-Manchester United midfielder David Beckham, who struck five free-kicks in 2000-01, and former Newcastle winger Laurent Robert, who repeated the feat a season later (2001-02).
Can Szoboszlai surpass that duo before the season reaches its conclusion?
