Manuel Locatelli believes Juventus deserved to take all three points from their match against AC Milan, with the Bianconeri forced to rely on a late goal to secure a draw.

Juve entered the fixture knowing it would be their hardest test of the campaign so far, and the Bianconeri produced one of their best performances of the season. However, despite controlling much of the game and creating several chances, they could only take one point.

Juventus struggled to find the finishing touch when opportunities arrived, allowing Milan to open the scoring and put themselves in a position to claim victory. Despite falling behind, the Bianconeri remained the better side and continued to push forward in search of an equaliser.

Juventus deserved more from the game

Their persistence eventually paid off in added time when Federico Gatti found the finish Juventus needed. His goal rescued a point for the men in black and white, although they would have wanted much more from a match in which they had performed strongly.

AC Milan can consider themselves fortunate to have avoided defeat, particularly given how much Juventus dominated the contest. The Bianconeri controlled the game for long periods but were unable to turn their superiority into the goals required to win.

Locatelli believes Juventus did enough to take maximum points and highlighted the need for the team to be more ruthless when opportunities present themselves. The midfielder also praised the reaction shown by his teammates after Milan took the lead.

Locatelli calls for greater ruthlessness

Speaking via Tuttomercatoweb, Locatelli said:

“Today we deserved to win. They took that shot where they got a goal but we lacked a bit’ of nastiness in the final metres. We’re working on it but it was a nice reaction. The changes went in well.”

The result leaves Juventus with a point, but their performance should provide encouragement as they continue their campaign. The Bianconeri showed that they can dominate a strong opponent, although the lack of finishing remains an issue that needs to be addressed.

Juventus must start converting more of their chances because failing to do so could allow opponents to continue taking points from matches in which the Bianconeri are the stronger team. If they become more clinical, performances like this could produce victories rather than draws.
