Logan Briggs has signed a new Leicester City contract and joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan for 2026/27. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder steps up to League Two in search of senior football.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Briggs is yet to make his senior debut for City, though he was on the bench for the FA Cup win at Bournemouth in February 2024.

He was a regular for the Under-21s last season, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists in all competitions. His form earned a place on the eight-man shortlist for Premier League 2 player of the year.

Briggs’ previous deal was due to expire at the end of June, but City have confirmed fresh terms. Northampton are scheduled to face Leicester in pre-season and in the Carabao Cup first round.

The academy graduate has drawn comparisons to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, whose first loan came at a similar stage. Dewsbury-Hall joined Blackpool in 2020, scoring four goals in 10 appearances, before playing 40 times for Luton Town in League One. He later made 129 appearances for Leicester, featuring in their Championship title-winning season.
