Cole Palmer is struggling for form, and one former Chelsea player has put the blame for that squarely on Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea fans are all very worried about Cole Palmer right now, and you can include former play John Obi Mikel on that list:

“Your best player having one assist the whole season is worrying. When I watch him play right now, he looks confused on the pitch, like he doesn’t know who he’s playing with, what is happening, what the system is, what the setup is,” the ex-midfielder said.

“There is no direction. With Enzo Maresca there was a direction. He knows where he needs to play, he knows he needs to play in the pocket between the right and the left, he needs to play in that pocket. Right now, he looks lost on the pitch. There is no sense of direction and that’s when I look at Liam Rosenior, there is no instruction from the touchline.”

Blame on Rosenior harsh for struggling star

We struggle to put too much of the blame on Rosenior in this case. Palmer’s form has been bad for more than a year. He did have a few more flashes under Maresca, but really that was because the whole team was functioning better as a whole.

In other news…

Palmer will leave for Man U this summer because of Chelsea’s failure to reach the Champions League, Paul Merson has said.

Liam Rosenior was asked about the rumours linking Alejandro Garnacho with an exit from Chelsea, this summer, and he dismissed them pretty much out of hand.
