According to Glorioso 1904, Lorenzo Lucca is closing in on a decision over his next step, a call that could shape Benfica’s pursuit.

The Italian striker is expected to inform Napoli in the coming days of his preferred path, with Benfica among the clubs awaiting clarity. A decision is anticipated by Wednesday, 21 January, and Benfica are viewed as well placed if Napoli accept their proposal. Nottingham Forest are also monitoring.

The Lisbon side are prepared to pay between one and a half and two million euros for a loan. The stumbling block is their reluctance to include a compulsory purchase clause that could reach 35 million euros.

It is a complicated negotiation, yet the SAD, led by Rui Costa, is ready to add another forward. José Mourinho has already said publicly he wants another centre-forward.
