Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini was finally able to unlock himself in front of the home crowd in last night’s win over SC Braga.
After a particularly difficult spell, Pellegrini was able to come through for his boyhood club, in large part thanks to Claudio Ranieri’s support and guidance.
After the match, Pellegrini spoke about his close rapport with Ranieri in the post-match interview with Sky Sport.
“The hug we exchanged was very spontaneous,” said Pellegrini of his goal celebration. “I live with my emotions, if I feel like doing something I do it.”
“It wasn’t something I’d prepared, he knows me and I also know who he is. It was easy to trust him right away even if I didn’t like not playing.”
“We talked to each other and this was very important because he managed to show the team that there is a way out and this was what we were missing together with a bit of serenity and the support of the fans.”
