Lorient suffer Laurent Abergel blow | OneFootball

FC Lorient are going strong in Ligue 1 and Olivier Pantaloni’s side approach the final sprint without fear of relegation, however, they have been dealt a blow ahead of the final sprint. 

Club captain Laurent Abergel (33) sustained an injury in midweek. Les Merlus faced OGC Nice in the Coupe de France, bowing out on penalties. There was another blow on the night with Abergel suffering a foot injury. 

Ouest-France understands that the midfielder, who was taken off just before the hour mark during the game, is now set for a period on the sidelines. His recovery time is estimated at around one month. He missed the 1-1 draw against Lille OSC on Sunday. Abergel is expected to miss the next two games at the very least. 

In a best-case scenario, he will return for the match against Paris FC on 5th April. Lorient are currently 10th in Ligue 1, a comfortable 15 points above the relegation play-off spot.
