Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Claudio Lotito has promised Lazio players fresh bonuses for results in the run-in, and has doubled the Coppa Italia payout from two million euros to four million euros.
The club president is enduring his most testing campaign in almost 22 years in charge, amid organised supporters boycotting home games, delicate finances and a public back-and-forth with head coach Maurizio Sarri.
Lazio drew 2-2 with Atalanta in the first leg of their semi-final. The return is in Bergamo on April 22, with the winners to face Inter Milan or Como in the final.
With European qualification via Serie A unlikely, the Coppa now stands as the season’s main target, Lazio sit eighth. Lotito is also said to have promised an extra reward if the team make it five wins on the spin.
The Aquile have beaten Sassuolo, AC Milan and Bologna in their last three matches. They host Parma in Rome on April four, then visit Fiorentina on April 13.
