Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has come out in defence of his fellow Frenchman Wilfried Nancy after the formers disastrous 33 day spell in charge of Celtic.

Saha has condemned the treatment of the former Columbus Crew coach, describing it as ‘horrible’ and adding that he was totally disrespected by the club in getting the boot after just a short period in charge.

As reported by Daily Record, the former Manchester United striker said: “I don’t know all the circumstances around Wilfried Nancy at Celtic, but he seems to be a very dedicated manager, and as a player he was a very reliable player as well.

“It was really sad to see his time at Celtic come to an end, it’s like coming on at 60 minutes and then being brought off at 80 minutes. It’s horrible.

“You can’t find a more disrespectful scenario and I think he was disrespected. Having 30 days is just wrong for any manager, it’s not fair and I didn’t like that at all.”

He also understandably backed his fellow countryman describing him as a reliable coach and player, despite like the rest of us probably never knowing of him until he was linked with the Celtic job.

The former French International who is now a billionaire due to his booming post career business adventures, also turned out for Newcastle. Everton, Spurs Fulham and Sunderland during a successful playing career, claimed it was similar to a player being hooked after 80 minutes in a game after only being brought on in the 60th.

Bizarrely he also stated that he didn’t know all the circumstances surrounding Nancy’s time at Celtic, so you’ve got to ask why he would come away with such stupid comments on the entire situation.

The truth of the matter is that Nancy should actually feel privileged to have been allowed as long as 33 days in the Celtic dugout. It was pretty evident from his first few of games in charge he was completely out of his depth, and he really should have been dismissed after the Premier Sports Cup final defeat to St Mirren.

I had totally forgotten all about the name Louis Saha until he gave his two cents worth about this whole sorry debacle. If only I and every other Celtic supporter could erase the name Wilfried Nancy as easily, then we’d all be so much happier.

Saha unlike his fellow countryman, at least gave us a good memory at Celtic Park, as he of course missed a vital spot kick as we recorded a famous victory over Manchester United in the champions league back in 2006, after Artur Boruc saved his late effort from the spot.

Just like that night, Louis has completely missed the target (okay he didn’t miss the target, the Holy Goalie saved it, but you’ll get the point…
