“We were completely convinced by Luca’s abilities when we signed him for Borussia Dortmund around two years ago. Since then, we have worked consistently with him, guiding Luca from our U17s, through our U19s, and into the first team. Our scouting department and the youth department have also played a major role in this. The reward for Luca’s development was his first-team debut a few weeks ago. We will continue on this successful path together,” explains Lars Ricken, BVB’s managing director.

Reggiani joined Borussia Dortmund’s youth academy from US Sassuolo in February 2024 and made his first competitive appearance for BVB on 18 February 2024 for the U17s, for whom he played a total of 12 times. He has made 32 appearances for the Black & Yellows’ U19s and has also featured four times for the U23s so far. On 7 February 2026, Reggiani made his professional debut in a 2-1 win against VfL Wolfsburg and made his first appearance in the UEFA Champions League ten days later.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl says: “Luca has made great progress not just in recent weeks but over the past few months. He brings not only great natural ability but also a lot of quality. At the same time, Luca still has a lot of potential and we will support him as he develops it. We are very pleased about his first steps in professional football. Now it’s time for him to keep pushing forward.”

Luca Reggiani: “I’m very, very happy. When I joined BVB two years ago, it was my dream to play at Signal Iduna Park. I’ll keep training hard every day, listen to those who help me improve and always give my all.”
