Shandong Taishan have made a proposal for Lucas Freitas, but Vasco are not satisfied with the terms and are reluctant to let the defender leave. The club view him as part of the squad and would only consider a deal for a strong offer.

According to Globo.com, the bid is for a loan and talks are ongoing, with Vasco pushing to include an obligation to buy.

Two other Série A clubs have shown interest, yet the Vasco hierarchy have vetoed his exit.

Signed last year in a deal dividing his economic rights, Freitas impressed early this year and moved ahead of Mauricio Lemos. He kept a starting spot until the arrival of Robert Renan, who took the place and has stayed in the side.

Vasco have confidence in Freitas and do not plan to return to the market for a squad centre-back. The position currently includes Carlos Cuesta, Robert Renan, Alan Saldivia and Freitas, with Hugo Moura also used there.
