Lucas Stassin set for Sevilla loan with option to buy after Benfica links | OneFootball

Lucas Stassin is set to join La Liga side Sevilla on loan from Saint-Étienne, ending talk of a move to Benfica.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 21-year-old will travel to Andalusia for a medical before signing, with an option to buy included.

The Belgian forward had been linked with Benfica earlier in the window. He was not in their plans and no formal bid or talks took place.

Stassin had previously been monitored as a possible alternative to Vangelis Pavlidis. The picture has since changed, with other attacking priorities now set by Benfica.

With no move from Portugal forthcoming, his immediate future lies in Spain. The loan switch to the Andalusian side closes the speculation over a transfer to Portugal.
