Lucas Veríssimo made his 200th appearance for Santos in a 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino at Vila Belmiro in the 15th round of the Brasileirão on Sunday 10.
He started and played the full 90 minutes, then took the captain's armband late on. According to Diario Do Peixe, the club honoured him after full time, with his wife Amanda and children Mirella and Samuel presenting a personalised 200 shirt and a commemorative plaque.
This is his second spell with the club. He has 12 outings since arriving in early April, eight in the Brasileirão, three in the Sudamericana and one in the Copa do Brasil.
Born in Jundiaí, the 30-year-old came through the youth ranks at José Bonifácio and Linense before breaking into Santos' first team. He debuted in a 1-1 draw with São Bernardo on 30 January 2016 in the Paulista and then cemented his place in defence.
He scored seven goals in 188 matches, winning the Copinha in 2013 and the 2016 Paulista, and finishing as 2020 Libertadores runners-up. In 2021 Santos sold him to Benfica. He was loaned to Corinthians in 2023, then joined Al-Duhail on a permanent deal the following year and had been on loan at Al-Wakrah.
