Lucas Veríssimo has been registered in the CBF’s BID and is cleared to debut for Santos, but travel issues could delay his availability.
According to Globo.com, his registration was published on Wednesday. Santos visit Mirassol on Tuesday at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Maião, in the interior of São Paulo state, and he may not be available to Juan Pablo Vojvoda as he has not yet reported.
The Middle East war that began last week triggered attacks on United States bases in Qatar, where he lives. The country has closed its airspace for security reasons, with no commercial or private flights to Brazil currently available.
There is a chance he could travel on Saturday, but the outlook is pessimistic. The planned flight is likely to be cancelled in the coming days amid the tension.
Uruguayan midfielder Christian Oliva has also been registered and is free to make his debut. The former Nacional player has been training at CT Rei Pelé since last week.
Lucas Veríssimo has played in Qatar since 2024 after leaving Corinthians for Al-Duhail. This year he was loaned to Al-Wakrah.
Santos have agreed a €4 million fee, R$ 24.6m, for 70% of his economic rights. He has signed a three-year deal with an option for one more season.
