Bahia left-back Luciano Juba has sustained a confirmed rectus femoris injury to his left thigh and will miss next Monday’s league trip to Coritiba.
According to Globo.com, the diagnosis was confirmed on Monday, and the 17th-round Campeonato Brasileiro fixture at Couto Pereira in Curitiba kicks off at 20:00 Brasília time.
Juba was injured in the second half of Sunday’s draw with Grêmio. He was replaced by Iago Borduchi, who set up Sanabria’s goal and should now get a run at left-back.
Juba has three assists and eight goals in 22 appearances this year, making him Bahia’s joint top scorer alongside Willian José. He was named in Brazil’s provisional World Cup squad but did not make the final list.
He is expected to return only after the World Cup in July.
